Let\u2019s take a look at the latest from five of our active build sites.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:15px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Myrtlewood Way <\/strong>\u2013 Gresham<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>As if by magic, the first building has been <strong>fully framed<\/strong> by our trade partners. We\u2019re using Parr Lumber\u2019s <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/parr.com\/opti-frame\/\">Opti-Frame<\/a> <\/strong>system. And soon more,\u201d Travis said. \u201cThat\u2019s why I love my job.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Myrtlewood Way will host our <a href=\"https:\/\/volunteer.habitatportlandregion.org\/need\/detail\/?need_id=810961\"><strong>LGBTQ+ Pride Community Day<\/strong><\/a> on June 7 and then open for volunteer shifts. If you\u2019d like to help us build Myrtlewood Way, please join the interest list <a href=\"https:\/\/volunteer.habitatportlandregion.org\/need\/detail\/?need_id=1068190\">here<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:15px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Twenty-Fifth Terrace<\/strong> \u2013 SW Portland<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The namesake \u201cterrace\u201d is starting to become more evident. But the big, visible milestone would be the new, massive retaining walls.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The walls hold back soil and manage runoff on this hilly build site. They\u2019re built with large, interlocking <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.ultrablock.com\/index.html\">Ultrablocks<\/a>.<\/strong> The blocks are sustainably made of concrete and come in different shapes and sizes, weighing up to two tons.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s been a major undertaking just to get to this point,\u201d said superintendent Greta Brown. They finished framing and sheathing the first floor of Building 1 in April. Superintendent Hector Orozco expects the second floor to go faster. Among other things, that includes final electrical trim out, attic insulation, and painting closet shelves.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Site superintendent Gerard Hoogeboom says they\u2019re also working on rough grading and ensuring all final elevations are correct. This prepares the site for future landscaping work, as well as pouring concrete for sidewalks and driveways.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:15px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>King City Commons<\/strong> \u2013 King City<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>All 16 homes here have received their Certificates of Occupancy. That means the Homeownership team can start to arrange purchase agreements, appraisals and third-party inspections. Once those results are received, the Construction team would make any necessary corrections before homeowners move in.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We recently hauled away the job trailer to make room for the community\u2019s natural play area. A sand table for the kids has already been delivered! Trades will work on rough grading and pour footings for a bench and water feature.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You can see the team say farewell to their job trailer in the video below.
