Habitat for Humanity Portland Region reaffirms our commitment to our DEI strategy and more specifically, anti-racism and the importance of advancing racial equity in working to achieve our mission.&nbsp;<br>&nbsp;<br>As a global housing organization, we know the crucial role both stable housing and education play in developing a solid foundation for communities to thrive. While there are arguments that reversing affirmative action is more grounded in equity, we know from our work in advocating for affordable housing that it is essential to acknowledge systemic barriers and biases. Creating race-neutral policies without addressing underlying inequities and racially exclusive practices only perpetuates inequity and racism.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We recognize the unique challenges that communities face because of these disparities, and we remain committed to advancing opportunities for all communities through homeownership, home repair, and advocacy. &nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We will continue to closely monitor the impacts of this ruling on our work both locally and nationally to ensure that we can continue to advance housing equity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:35px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading has-medium-font-size\">About Habitat for Humanity Portland Region<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"font-size:16px\">At Habitat for Humanity Portland Region, we believe that everyone deserves the opportunity to have a stable and healthy place to call home.
