As temperatures cool, construction heats up on 125 homes throughout Beaverton, Hillsboro, and Portland. Soon, even more people will become first-time homeowners all throughout the region. Here are more details on our progress.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Southeast Beaverton<\/strong> <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Three families have moved into their brand-new homes in this 16-home community of Denney Gardens<\/a>. With two structures left to complete, our construction crews have finished drywall on one triplex and will move onto interior finishes. Another duplex is undergoing framing, electrical, and plumbing work\u2014the nuts and bolts of the building process\u2014and will soon be topped with a roof. All homes will be move-in ready by next Spring.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

North Portland<\/strong> <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Just 14 miles away, the 30-home community of\u00a0Kenton Commons<\/a>\u00a0is also on track to be fully complete by next Spring.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Homeowners have already begun moving into 12 of the homes completed\u00a0this past Spring\u00a0and the\u00a0next 18 are getting the works: flooring, cabinets,\u00a0painting, and trim and door installation.\u00a0Soon,\u00a0these\u00a0structures\u00a0will be\u00a0transformed into\u00a0a bustling community\u00a0where homeowners can enjoy\u00a0such amenities as close by transit, parks, schools, and\u00a0Kenton\u2019s\u00a0cozy downtown area.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Southeast Portland<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Nestled in\u00a0Portland\u2019s Mill Park neighborhood, we\u2019re ramping up construction on\u00a0even more homes.\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

This\u00a031-home community\u00a0on\u00a0Cherry Blossom<\/a>\u00a0Drive consists of four four-plexes, five five-plexes, and one single-family home, which are currently\u00a0at various stages of construction: installing plumbing and electricals on some; framing and roofing on others.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Progress is moving quickly thanks to a new type of building model. This will be Habitat\u2019s first panelized build, meaning that whole sections are prebuilt off-site and installed onsite, which speeds up framing.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI\u2019m really happy with the progress so far,\u201d says Site Superintendent Ryan. \u201cWe can be framing walls while we\u2019re setting joists and sheathing the floor so that gives us a jumpstart.\u201d <\/p><\/blockquote><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Heading further south into the Foster-Powell<\/a> neighborhood, we\u2019re building 40 more homes. Our crews are pouring two foundations at a time and working on frontage improvements, which consists of creating new sidewalks, driveways, and streetlights. When foundations are complete, framing will begin.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Southeast Hillsboro<\/strong> <\/p>\n\n\n\n

What was once an empty lot will soon become eight homes known as\u00a0Alder Commons<\/a>.\u00a0With construction in the beginning phases, we\u2019re\u00a0setting\u00a0concrete\u00a0foundations\u00a0within the next month\u00a0and then framing will begin.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n
